The Iphone Is Awesome!
For Christmas I just purchased my wife a brand new Iphone. The picture of it is to the left, (I will take a better picture later). Coincidentally today, Dec 1, I came available to upgrade as well. So, I figured what the heck I might as well get one too, so I did. Christina got the white one and I got black.
I have to say the phone is absolutely amazing. I have been using the Siri feature to search, call, set reminders and all sorts of cool stuff. Everything is easy to use on this phone and I know for sure that we both are going to love this.
What You Need To Know About The Iphone
When using Siri to do searches online for businesses that I have done SEO for I found that they were not coming up online. A Maps location was coming up but Siri would automatically pick who they wanted to come up based on the search engine it is using. Now, this is going to be very important to learn about over the coming weeks because Siri is only the first wave of this voice command technology on the phones to search for stuff.
If you search specifically saying to search the web for plumbers in a city, or contractors or whatever then it will go to the internet and use Google as the search engine. There, the first results that come up are GOOGLE PLACES. So, if you have a small business and do not have your google places listing verified at the very least you will miss out on the millions of people using their phones to search for you. If you have no idea what to do and you own a small business, check out my offline business website, http://www.frontlineseo.com and on their you can find some good information to help you out. Also be sure to download the google places report, just fill in the form on the right hand side of that website.
Stay tuned as I keep you posted on results and strategies I come up with to rank businesses and websites on siri voice command searches.
I have to cut this short now, baby Chloe is crying and I can’t type anymore. Wish me luck

What To Consider When Deciding To Work From Home
With many workers commuting long distances and spending tons of money on gas just to get to work, being able to work from home may sound like the ideal situation. Being able to sleep in and work in your pajamas can save you a lot of money and stress. Although not every company allows its employees to work from home, if you feel you can effectively perform your duties from home, it’s definitely something you should discuss with your employer.
Many workers enjoy being able to work from home for personal reasons. Going back to work after having a child is difficult for many new mothers. Employers are afraid to lose these workers, who are often top performers. Instead of making them choose between their job and their family, employers can allow them to work from home. This gives new mothers the best of both worlds: they can stay at home with their child while still keeping their job and earning income to help support the family. Even those who have older children benefit from a job where they can work from home. They can be the one to drop off and pick up their child and take them to medical appointments. They can also work from home and spend precious time with their children, which is priceless. Along the same line, you can work from home and be your child’s primary caregiver. This saves a lot of money on daycare, which can run anywhere from $200 a week or more for just one child.
Save Money & Time When You Work From Home
Those with or without children will enjoy being able to work from home and save money on gas. With gas prices rising, you can easily save hundreds of dollars each year when you work from home and don’t have to fill up every week. You also have no traffic when you work from home. This means less hurrying and less stress with more time to relax in the mornings.
Many people have round-trip commutes of an hour or more. Why commute when you can work from home? The time you save by no longer commuting can be spent doing something you enjoy, such as reading, exercising, playing sports or spending quality time with family. This leads to a happier and healthier person. When you work from home, you have a better attitude about yourself and your job, which makes you more productive. You are less likely to feel stressed or make mistakes. You focus more on your job, which leads to more work done and more money saved. Plus, people who have work from home are more committed to their job and the company as a whole.
However, Being Able To Work From Home Is Not A Good Fit For Everyone
Some people have trouble working in a non-office environment. When they work from home, they may feel lonely or isolated. They may get easily distracted by the home environment and may focus more on children or housework than getting any actual work done. It may be difficult to communicate effectively when they work from home, since many problems that arise need to be worked out in person. Plus, most customer service-oriented positions require being onsite, making it unsuitable to work from home.
Being able to work from home can not only save you money, but your employers as well. Having employees working somewhere other than the office saves costs in various ways. These include spending less money on office supplies, utilities, phone calls and office space in general. If a company offers health benefits, they can reduce their costs due to employees being able to work from home and have more flexibility in their schedules. This leads to happier and healthier employees who are less stressed.
More and more companies are discovering the many benefits of allowing their employees to work from home. If your company has this option, talk with your employer to see if this arrangement may be right for you. Employees save money and commuting time when they work from home, resulting in less stress and more productive employees. Employers also save money. It’s a win-win situation when you work from home.

Getting All Your Backlinks From One Site Not Good For SEO
If you think that getting all your seo links from one big site like YouTube is going to bring you to the front page of Google you are sadly mistaken. I’m not saying that you shouldn’t market on YouTube, I am saying that you need to put seo links in a bunch of different places. You need to make sure that your backlinking is well diversified and definitely include social media. It is a known fact right now that if Facebook and Twitter are not talking about you then your not that important. You should have multiple web 2.0 sites as well linking to your site, blogs, comments on other peoples blogs can be a source for you to get your links out there.
Top sites to make sure you have links, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Web 2.0 (scroll down to the bottom and look at the icons, pick any or all of those), blog comments on sites that are relevant to your content. For example, if I will not be posting a comment on a cooking blog that is going to link to my alligator shoes blog. Does that make sense? Press release sites are also a good place to get your seo links out there. Last but not least, article directories.
Forgetting To Use .EDU Links As Part Of Your SEO
The reason having a backlink on a .EDU website is because Google and other search engines are known to put more importance for these backlinks. A .EDU domain is considered a top level domain, and you can not just go out there and purchase a .EDU domain. The organizations that have top level domains are accredited universities and for the most part only people who are a part of that organization can make a post to that domain. This makes the content on those top level domains higher quality so that means your seo back link is a higher quality.
Trying To Rank For Super Competitive Keywords
No matter how hard you try to rank for “make money” you are not going to do that with a domain that is less than a year old. Sorry to burst your bubble, but you really have to do your keyword research correctly. “Make money” has 247,000,000 competiting pages in Google. It is not impossible for you to rank for that keyword, don’t misunderstand me. You just won’t get traffic from that keyword for a long time.
So what you could do is take advantage of what is going on right now in Google. Local Search. Add a city modifier to your keyword and try to rank for the keywords that way. So, for example “Make Money in Atlanta”. You have a much better chance of ranking and getting traffic that way for cities, all the time still having your main keyword on your site, make money.
Getting Poor Quality SEO Backlinks
Listen, don’t waste your time posting to thousands of PR1 websites unless you have a way of automating that. You should be out there finding sites that you can post on that are high quality already, PR5-PR9. 1 PR5 backlink is equivelant to about 500 PR1 backlinks. Which would you rather do?
In conclusion, make sure that you don’t waste your time on sites that are not going to benefit you very much. Do your research correctly, find sites that are relevant, keep those sites in a list and go back to them frequently. SEO is a process and done correctly will drive you tons of organic traffic.
